I lived with my kitchen floor for 10 years because my plan was to remodel everything all at once but with each small project completed on my kitchen I wanted to keep going. If you are painting cabinets or refinishing your countertops I would install the flooring last. I found a vendor on Etsy who makes adhesive vinyl tiles for floors and wallpaper. The name of the company is Quadro Style and the best part (besides the convenience and beauty of these tiles) was the variety! This shop offers so many cool designs to choose from…CHECK IT OUT!
Tip: If you buy the adhesive tiles on Black Friday you can get 50% off! That’s what I did. I paid $500 instead of $1000. What a deal for a new floor! I just noticed they had a 50% off in April. I missed that one! I would suggest subscribing to her site in order to know when the big sales take place.
Using a utility knife I just picked a corner of my kitchen and started putting down my new adhesive vinyl panels. I highly suggest buying knee pads because it truly saved the life of my knees. Have I ever done this before? NOPE. If I had to do it a second time would I be better at it? YEP. Anyway, if I can do it, you can do it!
ANNND…it’s that easy! The most important things to remember are 1) make sure the existing floor is clean and broom swept before starting, 2) buy knee pads (trust me on this on) and 3) TAKE YOUR TIME.
Please let me know how your projects goes…I would love hear your feedback.
