How to Change Your Kitchen Floor on a $500 Budget…

Besides the cabinets the floors made the greatest impact on my kitchen remodel. I decided to install the floor last so that I didn’t have any splatters of paint or accidents on a newly installed floor. I found a vendor on Etsy who makes adhesive vinyl tiles and panels for floors and wallpaper. The name of the company is called Quadrostyle and the best part (besides the convenience and beauty of these floor panels) was the variety! This shop offers so many cool designs to choose from…and I looked EVERYWHERE! There were no stores that had stylish tiles or panels. NONE!  I swear if I had the capital I would absolutely invest in a product like this to sell at Home Depot or Lowe’s.  The tiles and panels at Quadrostyle are custom made for each order. They are the cheapest option but they are beautiful and I have gotten the MOST compliments on the floor more than anything.   I love this floor and highly recommend this product.  I’m considering doing my bathroom next.

Tip: If you buy the adhesive tiles on Black Friday you can get 50% off! That’s what I did.  I paid $500 instead of $1000. What a deal for a new floor! November will be here before you know it so put it on your calendar! I would suggest subscribing to her site in order to know when the big sales take place. Also, it’s worth mentioning that their customer service is awesome. If you don’t know how many tiles or panels you need they will walk you through it.

Using a utility knife, I picked a corner of my kitchen and started pulling down my new adhesive vinyl panels. I highly suggest buying knee pads because it truly saved the life of my knees. Have I ever done this before? Nope. If I had to do it a second time would I do it better? Yep. For me, learning how to do it is the most fun and the feeling of accomplishment after it’s complete is priceless (assuming it turned out the way I wanted)…so, as always, if I can do it, then you can do it! Seriously, I’m no expert but I have the will and determination to make it work.  Make it work!

Make sure to clean the floor really well. If there’s dirt and grime it’s more difficult to adhere.

ANNND…it’s that easy! The most important things to remember are:

  1. Make sure the existing floor is clean and broom swept
  2. Buy knee pads to save the life of your knees
  3. TAKE.YOUR.TIME.

Please let me know how your floor project turns out! I would love to hear your feedback and anything you’ve learned that can help me or someone else who’s reading my blog.

If you like it, share it! Thanks, y'all!
